| Education Programm for University launched |

At a press conference on March 6th, we launched the new education programme for the students of silviculture of the Brasov University and for the hunting personnell of the Forest Administration and the Hunters Association. Together with Prof. Negrutiu from Transylvania University of Brasov and representatives of the county forest administration, we presented the brochures about bears, wolves, and lynx. Over 10 journalists were present and throughout this week, there have been widespread reports about this event. We initiated the "Romanian Wildlife Series", a series of brochures about all native large mammals, throughout last year and produced so far brochures about brown bears, wolves, and lynx. Throughout the year 2001, brochures about red deer, roe deer, wild boar, and chamois will follow. The brochures have - different to all former publications about wildlife in Romania (which focused only on hunting issues), the focus on all aspects of the biology, ecology, and management of the species.
